    no shutdown button after boot

    Hi all,

my laptop (Dell Latitude E5500) operates under Ubuntu Lucid. From time to time the shutdown button is just missing after boot up. On the other hand, the session indicator appears together with a non-operative copy on the right side of the panel. Any ideas?

Re: no shutdown button after boot

I'd right click on the panel, select 'add to panel' and put the 'shutdown button' or 'Indicator applet session' back on. I'd right click on whats not working and select 'remove from panel'. Seems something similar happened to me in the past and I ended up with two shutdown buttons. That didn't upset me though -- better than none lol.
Give me a stable operating system, and I will make it unstable

    Thanks, corncob,

I know how to restore the shutdown button and, fortunately, it doesn't disappear too frequently. But I think the behavior is annoying. Anyone else observing this? Is it a bug?

    Cheers, Palmstroem
