Hi refer to the post above yours. The answer is there with just a little bit of work from you. Different chip numbers with the same solution.

Ahhh thanks! last I checked was probably an hour or 2 b4 that post was up and when I posted I had been working for hours already and was trying to hurry to get out the door and didn't notice that one. I am home now and am going to get back to work on this hopefully that will work. I will let you all know!
So I tried it and the same thing ends up happening . . . net works for a few min then stops suddenly. However it seems to be going faster at least. Before I was only downloading at around 500kbs (or less) now it has peaked at 2.5mbs.
i wish I could help but i was just installing and uninstalling firmware and drivers until it worked. at one point i messed up Ubuntu and had to re-install it.
Seems whatever it was I did before trying this then doing this what was on the post b4 my original one was half working I just reinstalled and the same thing again and Im getting nothing

I just recently talked to a fellow college student who has little knowledge of linux. He is primarily a mac user but knows some about windows as well. As we were talking he offered up an odd suggestion "well if it was working in the previous version why not go back to that" he said to me. So I tried it . . . Oddly enough it is working. I have been online for about an hour and a half w/o any problems what so ever. I simply installed the STA driver from the additional drivers (hardware drivers on this version) then restarted and it works. I tested with the same download I have been testing with for the past few weeks and it downloaded in about 6 min like it is supposed to. I guess for now I am going to stay with this version since a working computer is better than a non working one (being a college student). My little netbook just wasn't cutting it. Now if only I can get flash/java working right on this . . . But thats another issue for another time in another part of the forums. Thank you everyone for your help.
Updated to 11.04, now I have no wireless. I have no access to a hardline connection. Just wireless on a separate computer.
I'm getting an error when I attempt to fix it. Error is as follows:
E: firmware-b43-lpphy-installer: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
EDIT: Also this:
