    10.10 32bit on Asrock dual Sata2: agpgart-ali : Unsupported Ali Chipset: 10b9/1689

I got a computer I had loaned to someone back today and decided to throw Ubuntu 10.10 on it.

    Pertinent info:
Board: Asrock 939 Dual Sata 2 (The chipset IS ALi)
    Chip A64 4200x2
    2gb ram

    The installation was no problem.

After the post install reboot I get a blinking cursor, then an error message that blinks so fast I had to take a video of it to read it, and then the monitor sleeps so I have no idea what happens next. No spash screen, no dots, I don't think it gets anywhere near that far through the boot sequence.

The error is as listed in the subject agpgart-ali : Unsupported Ali Chipset: 10b9/1689

The error message seems to sound pretty fatal, I can't tell if the box continues to boot due to the monitor sleep. I tried plugging in some speakers to see if there were any ubuntu noises (given that it finished booting but I couldn't see it).. there were none.

    Any ideas?
