    Exclamation Question About Installing

    Hey everyone.

I have been using OpenSUSE for a while now and decided to try out Ubuntu (Desktop Edition)... I originally wanted to use a Flash Drive to install it but, honestly, I have no clue how to convert the .iso to a .img... SOOOOOO... I tried to put it on a disk, but the disks I have are only 700mb. Before going out and buying a stack of disks, I decided to try and put it on a DVD-R. Whenever I try to burn it, my Mac gives me a error message "This disc can’t be verified and might be unreliable."

Does anyone know the problem? Or am I wasting my time and I should just go buy some CD's?
Does anyone have an already converted (to .img) version of Ubuntu Desktop that they could link me to?

    Thanks!

    Re: Question About Installing

Hi and Welcome to the forums

You don't need to convert .iso > .img. You can use unetbootin for creating a Live USB.

    Also see this page.

Before burning, it would be better to check the MD5SUM of the downloaded image.

    Thanks for the response!

Unfortunately, neither unetbootin or usb-creator has been released for Mac OSX. I think I will steal my sisters Windows 7...
