Need suggestion for simple framework

Hi

I am intermediate in python programming. I need a simple webframe work to develop an application in python which was already developed in PHP and need to migrate to python. For me Django looks very hard with too many options. I just need a framework which can able to connect database and retrieve the results. I dont need template system, URL etc. Because its internal application in my team. I have googled..webpy is a simple framework.

It will be a very great help if you guys can suggest me a framework which is easy to learn, simple to implement
