Are you sure you did the first terminal command? on the first post.
    If not then.
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install libgstreamer0.10-0

note that the instructions on the first post are a couple years out of date. See http://www.exaile.org/downloads for more up to date instructions.

    Ratmandall - That command said:-

libgstreamer0.10-0 is already the newest version.
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
    libwxgtk2.6-0 lmms-common libqt3-i18n libflac++6 libsdl-sound1.2 libmikmod2
    libwxbase2.6-0 stk libstk0c2a libsmpeg0

    But I still got:-

    Couldn't find package libgstreamer0.10

I can't be bothered with all that stuff it says to do on the downloads page so I'll stick with what I've got. Thanks for your help anyway.

Exaile is finally usable for me. It supports loading a playlist made somewhere else. About time. It's replaced my amarok needs now.

I hate new Amarok... I tried all players I heard of... but I didn't like any of them. But Exaile rocks! Clean and simple look... It was love at first sight... a few minutes ago

Re: New music player - Exaile!

Hi, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.

I have a question, especially for you who are actively developing this great player or things about it(like the plugin for gtk-desktop-info for example).

Is there a way for me to get the cover art of the currently playing song? And then do whatever I want with it, like save it in a file or work with it with things like imagemagick? Perhaps any of the plugins available right now does something similar and saves it somewhere in a temporary file(like the Desktop Cover plugin)?

I tried to read the python code in the gtk-desktop-info plugin and try to find how it grabs the artwork to display it on the desktop but I was completely lost in the code. ConkyExaile has helped me to grab any other info that I wanted(title, artist, track number, album, year etc) but I have no luck with the artwork.

this one worked for me 10/16/09 in Kubuntu 9.04 (just thought I'd share since the rest of these posts are pre-9.04).

    Thanks!
