EDIT: They should replace Rhythmbox with Exaile. Far better, and better looking. Great job. Finally a GTK player that's worth it. Great great great. I don't know what else to say...

Can anyone give me a full guide in installing Exaile from the requisites and then installing Exaile. I tried to install but I it is always the old Exaile that is installed.
you can get the newest version in Add/Remove programs. Also if you run
sudo apt-get install exaile
it should install the latest version in the repos.
Just go to the program's homepage www.exaile.org and download the package that's there for your system. It has both for gutsy and feisty. If you lack any dependencies they will be installed automatically.

Great app , I noticed that using exaile on a large database raises the memory footprint.
I have > 10 GB music and a constant 40 MB ram

Rhythmbox stores it an XML which has all the info on your collection. So I was hoping Exaile would be able to read it.
That method would give me arthritis. I will check other themes.
It's just that I was really impressed with the layout and look of Exaile, but its a pain to convert the collection from Rhythmbox.
That said I fear like other Gnome apps this will become dead when the developer loses interest. This is where KDE has a better community development environment.
I am still waiting for Google to develop a music player that uses Labels, because the Genre tag field is so limiting.
