Two of us from Bloomington are coming up for the October meeting, will be nice to meet some other people running Ubuntu. We have 10 systems at the museum we volunteer at running Edubuntu, I've got it on 2 systems here at home and finally got my laptop working with the wireless card. My friend has ubuntu on at least 2 systems at his house and we are starting to work with server as well. Needless to say I think we have the largest Ubuntu network in Bloomington lol.

Awesome! Can't wait to meet you guys. Just so you know, we have info at http://chi.ubuntu-us.org and we are usually online and kicking in the IRC channel on chat.us.freenode.net (Freenode IRC), in #ubuntu-chicago

We also have a mailing list at https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/lis...ntu-us-chicago
Feel free to join the list and email the rest of the crew. I am starting to think that maybe Ubuntu Chicago may some day become Ubuntu Illinois, then Ubuntu Midwest and then Ubuntu World

Thanks again for stopping by, hope to see you around. Take care!

Will be happy to meet up with some other Ubuntu users for a change. Seems now I'm just running across some issues with the ubuntu wiki lately. Seems I misspelled my wiki name, got another and now I'm having issues uploading the code of conduct since gpg want's to use the other email addy, easy fix for this anyone? Trying to get things set up so I can apply for membership, think I have it covered with advocacy if nothing else, I've converted 2 more people so far and just sent a disk home with my parents who had been here to visit this weekend.

What's a good IRC app to use? I haven't IRC since last century lol..where's the HowTo at lol. Got the one for GAIM but just clueless on how to get to the channel, ok I only messed with it for a bit though.

Sent a hello email to the list last week haven't seen it show up yet, going to give it another shot in tomorrow night if it doesn't come thru.

My only complaint about Ubuntu..my Ubuntu sticker kinda disintagrated and fell off the back window of my car last week, of course it lasted longer then the MS sticker...maybe because MS doesn't give them away with their cds.

Glad to be a part of the team if you ever decide to host a meeting a bit south of Chicago we have a great place to host it down here, and it costs as much as a Ubuntu cd as well.

for gpg at the command line do:

    Code:
    gpg --edit-key <your_key>
once you are int he edit section, do:

    Code:
    adduid
follow the instructions and add your new email address in there. now you will have two email addresses listed. you can opt to keep them both, or delete the other one.

as for an IRC client, that depends on if you use Ubuntu or Kubuntu. Kubuntu I would recommend Konversation. With Ubuntu, either use GAIM or X-Chat.

hope this helps, if you want more help or anything, i got by nixternal on every chat client you can think of
