I've had a few folks email with interest. That's great but let's get a list going in the Wiki.... Also if anyone knows Linux Users Groups in the area make a plan to crash a meeting and drop off some Ubuntu CDs. The last (and only) Linux group I went to had a large showing and nobody used Ubuntu. I busted out a lap top and had a bunch really interested. So try to pass the word.

I Like the propsed Logo but I think something added that identifes it more would be cool...... Maybe a sears tower or something simple like that...

That could work, If we keep it on a modern feel that it would look good on a T-shirt.

Are there any other Chicago sites that would be good??????? I'm coming up empty, that's why I'm not in marketing.

With word of the Dapper release parties, and how we don't have anything for it, how about planning something for Edgy?

Has anyone in Chicago ever gone to a release party of any kind?
I've been to a user group meeting (coffie house stlye event)

What kind of Party format is right for a release party??? I'm down for one but these things can be a bit wierd if it's like three people.

i have been to a release party a long time ago. i have been unimpressed with the suburban chicago lug's. this would be great, a u/k/x/edu buntu chicago users group. im in the suburbs, dupage to be exact. i would like to see this happen. i added myself to the wiki. Chibuntu!!!

I think we need to get the Release date and see if anything else is coming up in the City. Then we can get a idea together. (it'll also give those of us time with wives to explain a release party.....)

I hope it's not in August (I'm going to Africa)
