I'm able to use Jack (with the Qt front end) normally -- i.e. latency is fine, sound comes through, it hooks up to everything cleanly, etc. -- but the sound quality is very distorted. It's similar to a really low bitrate or a very high compression like 64 kbps. I had the same problem with ALSA/PulseAudio before, but was able to fix it by choosing a 5.1 output profile in the sound hardware preferences. Me thinks a similar solution may be in store for Jack, but I do not know how to approach this (especially since my experience with Linux is very minimal) and so I turn to the community. Does anybody here know how to fix this?
