I just got mine yesterday. I closed the lid a few minutes ago. Now it's just a black screen. I figured there must be some sort of key combination to resume. No luck yet. I guess I'll just have to power it off.

I don't know if anyone cares but I did an update of the wireless driver and it seems to work a lot better. A new driver was released on 10-25-2010 from Realtek. Here is the download link:
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Downloads=true

I was getting a lot of drops and intermittent connections before and I've had no problems now.

I still don't have suspend working. I wish we had an update for that.

I'm having problems with suspend & hibernate as well. I got a Serval Professional (serp6) 2 weeks ago.

    I'm running Ubuntu 10.10.

I'm hoping this can get fixed soon, it kinda bothers me.

Is anyone working on this at system76? I'm starting to really be frustrated with this computer given that I have to manually shutdown every time I take the computer anywhere. Granted it's fast shutting down and restarting - but I'd much rather just be able to close the lid and have it sleep, and wake up upon reopening.

I don't see any movement on it, but that does not mean it is not happening. I'm not sure where one would look to find out.

The wireless has been better but I still have to unload and load the wireless module periodically. It's a frustrating thing too. I'd settle for anything to fix this. I'd even be willing to install new hardware.

The laptop is great except for suspend not working and wireless dropping once in a while.

Re: Serval Professional (Serp6): Fans, Suspend, and Hibernate

The suspend problems are a known issue, and we are working on fixing them. The issue is that it affects many different systems, and each computer seems to have its own severity on this.

If anyone can make this occur, it would help out if they could cause it, then upon rebooting, open a terminal and run these commands:
    Code:
    date
    cat /var/log/pm-suspend.log
That would help in pinpointing the cause of this, especially on the Servals.

    Hi isantop,
This is a step forward. At least you don't claim that suspend works "nearly flawless" on s76 anymore.

I'll be more than happy to help where ever I can. I'll do this tonight as soon as I get home:

    date
    cat /var/log/pm-suspend.log
Is it best to post these things here or should we also be checking out another location or bug tracker? I just want to make sure we are helping put the right information in the right place.

Right here is fine, though we may be setting up a bug report in the future.
