Dell XPS M1330 Running very hot

I received a Dell XPS M1330 for free from a friend who has spilled some soda on the keyboard. I replaced the keyboard, but ever since I received it I have noticed it runs very hot doing usual tasks, particularly watching flash videos. Is there something (hardware or software) that I can do to help cool it off before the gpu goes to hell?

Is the fan kicking in when it gets hot?

Sorry for the late reply, yes the fan kicks on when its hot, and this heating problem has repeated with Vista, Windows 7, and Ubuntu 10.04. In fact the fan gets quite loud and that alone has worried me. But I really want to get this issue fixed before the heating causes a hardware malfunction. Anyone have an idea?
