Wiki page up for MacbookPro6,2 for Ubuntu 10.10

I have made a wiki page to start documenting tips for using Ubuntu 10.10 on a MacbookPro 6,2. Please help update this page.

Hi Technoviking, thanks for creating the wiki. There was a lot of old cruft from previous guides made for previous versions of Ubuntu. I have completely updated the documentation to reflect current compatibility and procedures based on my testing with Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick. There were a few things I left in, because I'm not sure if they are still relevant or not.

Next up on the todo list is some tinkering with vga_switcheroo to see if I can get the switchable graphics working. It would be great to get the Intel integrated card working (big boost for battery life and open source drivers).

Any news on switchable graphics, or on at least disabling the graphics chip so its not drawing power all the time?

I tried installing Ubuntu Control Center after Maverick was released and was not able to get the graphics card to switch. However, there are more details instructions available now which I have not yet tried:

    http://digitizor.com/2010/10/09/how-...-ubuntu-10-10/

There is also some information about vga switcheroo here that includes a more involved process:

I have been utterly busy lately and haven't had time to play around with switcheroo again. If you try any of the methods listed above, please let us know what the results are.

In the meantime, if you want to reduce power consumption for the Nvidia card as much as possible, follow the instructions listed in the wiki:

Does Ubuntu have both graphics cards run at the same time with the Macbook Pro 6,2 or just the Nvidia?
