App to view Ubuntu Forums on Android?

Is there any app or other way to view Ubuntu Forums on an Android phone? The forum as with most message forums isn't setup for mobile viewing, so it's hard to navigate. I wish more forums supported NNTP so an NNTP client could be used to aggregate all forums into one application, but I think most people associate NNTP only with Usenet which is about dead.

I've tried BBFoc, but though it connects to Ubuntu Forums it doesn't pull the info correctly so it's unusable. Also screen scraping could be done with some work, but even a slight change in the theme would throw it off.

Are there any other suggestions or comments?

    Thanks --
    Sam

They should do what the folks at XDA have done. I love their app for Android.

The pro with using something like NNTP is you have one standard aggregation app to tie all the forums you participate with into one nifty place. Granted you wouldn't have access to things like creating subscriptions, viewing user details, etc, but to read and respond to messages it'd be awesome. Very similar to having an RSS aggregation app to view content from many websites at once.

The problem though is NNTP uses a non-standard port, and PHP (and similar languages) don't do too well stepping away from serving just web content. It'd almost have to be a stand-alone application that hits the database directly, but even if some other messaging standard was created outside of NNTP with these added features it would definitely make it easier to read message forums on mobile devices.

Heck I'd even go for a theme that's formatted for mobile devices

Definitely, if it works I'll shell out $2.99 to get support on Android, but I'd hate to buy it if it doesn't work. I also maintain a few other phpBB forums myself, so I might try to install Tapatalk on those to see if it works. Would be nice of so.

    Well that sucks...

I'll probably install it on our LUG website (running phpBB 3) this week or weekend and see how it goes. Seems like a no brainer to install it given the amount of people who are moving to Smart Phones. Heck I've had my DroidX for over two weeks now and I haven't turned on my laptop at home since unboxing the phone.

And it's not going to work unless the admins choose to install the plugin.
