Angry Upgraded from 8.04 - Lucid: Login slow

Upgraded from Hardy where all worked fast and the only annoying bug was a total freeze every so often. So I thought it would be good to go to the next LTS version and see if it works better.

However it is very slow starting up. bootchart reports 2:44 min compared to 40 sec for Hardy and that is only the start-up.
Then the real drag begins after you enter your password. It's been up to 30 min!!! before the system became responsive and did not have a solid HDD light.

So my question is where do I start troubleshooting. I'll include the bootchart and dmesg log. What else is needed to tackle this issue?

I'm really in a tizzy here, since it's my wives laptop and she is not as patient as I am, to put it mildly.
Do I need to downgrade back to Hardy

Thanks in advance for al your great help

    Thanks http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=939075
But I'm not going to reinstall Lucid just yet. It's not that the system is totally un-usable. It's just doing 'stuff ' when starting up.

One if the things I found is UbuntuOne I don't think I need it and found this thread to remove it
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1498474

And it did speed the boot by a full minute.
Also some conversions seem to have finished, since as of late the login time has decreased as well.

hmmm, let me do another boot up and see how much time it takes now...

Maybe you have too many things at start up.

Ok, login time is now under 3 min's.
That seems reaonable. Though it's not the first login of the day, those seem often to take longer. Will let my wife try now and see what she says...

Will keep my progress posted on this thread.

Thanks for the help, this is a GREAT community!

Could be, but I'm comparing apples with apples, since I've upgraded from Hardy to Lucid with whatever I had. What I've found thus-far is, that under Lucid UbuntuOne is added and started at start-up. Now that I've disabled that, I seem to be back to comparable login times...
