How to install microsoft money 2004 under linux/wine emulator?

    Hello,

Microsoft money 2004 cannot be installed under wine. It requires IE something. I downloaded some apps for it after googling but no way. Is there a cool straigth forward installer?

    Microsoft money 2004 - WineHQ.

I suspect that it's your installation of Wine which isn't working correctly. It's important to use an up to date version of Wine for decent performance and functionality and some versions of Wine does not work with Microsoft money 2004.

I have the version of wine corresponding to wine-bin 1.0.1-3.

It is pretty new, no, ? -and might be sufficient? I tried to install under mode xp, 2000, and vista with winecfg nope -not working

FYI wine, IMO, can be tricky, often the version of wine is critical, and some things are fixed and others break between versions.

With something as "mission critical" as finances I highly advise either:

    1. Continue to dual boot (or run windows in a VM) and continue to use MS money.

    2. Convert to a Linux native alternate. gnucash is cross platform. kmymoney is, IMO, closest to MS money.

    3. There are other commercial cross platform options, I have not reviewed those.
There are two mistakes one can make along the road to truth...not going all the way, and not starting.

I found Wine to be ugly and horrendously slow.

I now use VirtualBox with a Vista guest running in it for my Windows apps and am pleased as punch at its performance.
