I have an Acer Aspire 5050 laptop running Ubuntu 10.04 with an Atheros AR5001 wireless adapter (integrated). The problem I am having is that the wireless will connect fine and work for about 5 minutes, then the connection will quit working. The status stills hows "Active" with plenty of bars in the top menu bar, but the link light on the front of the computer just stays lit, and does not blink as it should. If I turn the wireless off (there is a switch on the front of the computer), then back on everything works fine for another five minutes.

I have the same issue at home, in my office, and on public wireless access points in restaurants, etc. The wired connection works fine all the time.

The computer had Windows on it previously and never had wireless issues then.

Here is the info for my Ethernet adapters:

:~$ lspci | grep Ethernet
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)
08:02.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)
I also had the same problem with Ubuntu 9 before upgrading. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
