Anyone can access the SiteAdvisor results pages, it's just the BHO that needs to be installed on Windows or OSX. Basically you can look at the analysis and reviews, but you can't get the little icons next to search results or the little toolbar button that changes color as you browse. That's fine though, because as always happens with such things, it's pretty hit or miss.

Personally, if the site is hosting code itself rather than pointing to the actual developers' pages, I absolutely would not trust it.

It looks like there is a free version and a paid version.

Sys reqs are listed as follows:

    *  Windows 7, Vista and XP SP1+
    * Internet Explorer 6 and above, or
    * Firefox 3 and above

    *  Mac OS X Leopard and above
    * Intel CPU
    * Firefox 3 and above

I don't see anything listed for Linux. The only thing I know of that is similar is called: Web of Trust.

Pardon me,i do not trust Web of Trust because it create a lot of false rating.

As for siteadvisor.com from mcafee is free without any installation by clicking on the top left side "View a Site Report".

I don't use that "Web of Trust" thing either, for the same reasons. I only mentioned it since it's similar to the McAfee thing.
