cool clear machine info panel

Hi All! Pretty new here. I have seen some customized desktops with what looks to be an info panel down the right side of the screen, with a clear background. Can anyone tell me where that's coming from? Is there package for that?

any hints would be appreciated.

Hi,
Yep, I think what you are looking for is Conky too.
Here is a link with possibly hundreds of different Conky configurations:

You can save any of the configurations as a hidden file named ".conkeyrc" inside your home folder, then Conky will start using it. Some configurations might need additional scripts/plugins though.
