    Video editor

Ok, I know this has been asked a thousand times but since video editing changes so much I figured I would try again.

I need a video editor and so far it is really hard to find one that meets my simple requirements:

    1. Needs to be stable ie, no crashing every 5 minutes.
    2. Needs to be able to split and join clips
    3. Needs to be able to import .ogv files

As simple as these are I can't find one to do the job. I mainly have issues with requirement number 1.

If compiling form source will help with stability I will gladly do that. I don't care how simple or complex it is to use as long as it meets those three things in the list.

If you guys are using something that meets all those please tell me what it is and what version it is.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    I recommend openshot.
You may have problems (with work arounds) if the .ogv files are from gtk-recordMyDesktop though.

Some research to be done by you.

If you've got a broadband internet connection, it is worth trying all of them and selecting the one that best suites you.

    Also this might help.

This was my problem. I converted them to avi and then edited them with Avidemux and it worked great. I also did it with Kdenlive just to see if it would work (it was crashing all the time) and it worked fine also ( no crashes). I messed around with openshot but it still has some pretty bad bugs when it comes to moving clips around etc...

Anyway the ogv format is the issue

    Thanks for the help!
