    How current is this link?

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...3?comments=all
This issue is fixed in the 2.6.33 kernel, unfortunately this kernel is not yet available in Lucid.

Re: EEE PC 1000H 10.04 (same wireless issues as everyone else)

I am using the previous link to try and install the RaLink Driver. Here is everything I have tried so far. At the end I tried copying the RaLink file to the desktop and going from there but was unsuccessful. I don't know why.

Re: EEE PC 1000H 10.04 (same wireless issues as everyone else)

Sorry me, actually I don't pay attention that you have a 2.6.33 kernel. Beta driver for RaLink RT2860 already present in this kernel.

This driver require some firmware that should be installed into /lib/firmware/. Check that it's right:
    Code:
    # ls /lib/firmware/* | grep 2860

So you can try to load it:
    Code:
    # modprobe -v rt2860sta
    Now post here output of
    Code:
    # ifconfig -a
    and also
    Code:
    # tail -f /var/log/kern.log
We should to see something unusual :)

I gave up for a while while I was on holiday again. The results are bellow. Nothing is happening.

Re: EEE PC 1000H 10.04 (same wireless issues as everyone else)

    Hi,

i am new to this board.
I have the same issue mentioned here.
I have the same wireless chipset installed in my EEE PC 1000HE running an Ubuntu netbook edition 10.10 with kernel version 2.6.35-23

But there's no way yet getting it running. But i remember, that there was a running wireless get using the ubuntu derivate "gOs" google good OS.... Therefore i just had to compile the compat-wireless package manually.

With the current ubuntu version i could install the latest deb from launchpad.net.
But even the modinfo-corresponding correct version to my running kernel does not work.
The system recognized the module atl1e to be loaded. Everything seemed fine, the module loads correctly. modinfo shows, that the installed hardware pci id (1969:1026) fits to that module.

But for whatever reason i get No wlan0 device or ath0 device.

    Any further ideas?

floschi: go to Applications > Accessories > Terminal and run these commands, and pressing Enter after each one:
    Code:
    lspci -vnn
    sudo iwconfig
Copy and paste the output here so we can take a look and see what might be going on.
