I'm using 10.04 and regularly updating. A recent update has changed my CDROM from mounted to not-mounted nothing else has changed except the installation of a new sound card.
I used 'Mount Manager' to mount the CDROM (mount point /media/cdrom0) so that I could access my backup DVD. I had access to my DVD yesterday BUT when I started my machine today I got a file system error (sorry - didn't write it down) can't check file system, cannot mount CDROM0.
I skipped the manual bit and the computer started without a file system check and I can access my backup DVD.
I think I have messed up my file system but don't know how or what.
Can you help, please.
