Installing Ubuntu 10.04

Hi
I have the following config.
P4 2.4Ghz, 512MB RAM, 75GB HDD (with 4 partitions)
I'm planning to install Ubuntu 10.04.
So far I was using XP & would like to know if Ubuntu will work fine on this config?

It should. Download an image Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS (Lucid Lynx)

Choose the PC (Intel x86) desktop CD

Burn it BurningIsoHowto

I would dual boot at first until your comfortable with Linux.

I am not sure whether 512 would be sufficient for both, but if you just need Ubuntu, it should work fine. Go to the http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download, if you need further help in creating a CD/USB to boot Ubuntu from

Or you could just try it without actually installing it, until you feel like switching.

Even I was thinkin the same. 512 shud b sufficient for Ubuntu 10.04 only. I already hav downloaded the OS onto a CD.

Thats the cool part about the CD. I already tried the OS without installin it & it looks pretty comfortable. Supports all applications that I want & the GUI looks good too.
