    the 'M' key breaks keyboard

I haven't seen anyone with a similar problem, but I've noticed this with the most recent upgrade to 10.04. Occassionally when I press the 'm' key, my keyboard stops working. This usually happens in Firefox, so I attributed it to a Firefox bug, but I just noticed it happening in Empathy too. I can still Ctrl+Alt+F1 to a shell, and the keyboard works fine in the shell, but when i switch back into Gnome the keyboard still doesn't work. Context menus also don't appear.

Unplugging and re-plugging the USB keyboard doesn't change this.
Switching into shell and killing Firefox *occassionally* fixed it, but not anymore.
Sometimes if I just keep killing apps for a while, it will appear to "catch up" with all my typing and clicking I've done over the last several minutes.

Any suggestions? I'd say replace my keyboard but it really doesn't seem like a keyboard malfunction since a shell works fine.

first try a different usb port then try a different keyboard just to see if its software or hardware related
"If you were made king, who would replace you?"
