I have just taken a delivery of a second hand Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook, and it came with an unauthentic version of Windows 7 on it, so I thought, what better time to give Linux a go?
I used my USB drive to put Ubuntu Netbook on it (the latest version, I can't remember which specifically and can't find it detailed anywhere), and I'm having a few issues.
First, the whole interface is very jerky. This is a good netbook and handled Windows 7 fine, but Linux is being very unresponsive.
Second: I can't figure out how to hook it up to my Wifi connection. The network tab in the System area doesn't seem to give me the option, and the wifi logo at the top is greyed out with a red ! over it. Clicking that gives me the option of VPN Connections, Connect to Hidden Wireless Network, or Create New Wireless Network, the other two options above these are greyed out.
And third, I can't figure out how to change the resolution. In Monitor Preferences, it does not recognise the monitor, and has put it into a 800x576(4:3) res with 0Hz Refresh Rate, but I know this netbook can go to [EDIT: (1366x760 16:9].
Sorry to post so many questions at once, hope someone can help. Thanks
