USB Startup disk & Data drive.

Hi All

I am trying to use a 16 GB usb thumb/pen drive to both have a live Ubuntu and the remaining portion as the data drive. So that If I go with this thumb drive, I can boot in any machine and I will have both the OS as well as my data to work on.

The problem I am facing is, as soon as I am done with the usb disk creation (keeping around 4 GB for persistence) and boot using this USB disk, I cannot see or mount the remaining portion of the usb drive as a data drive.

Is it possible? and if yes, pl,ease let me know how?

If you have 16GB why not do a full install? I installed to 16GB flash drive just like an install to a second drive. Just have to be sure to use advanced button to install grub to flash drive.
