need help installing libtxc_dxtn.so library

i need to get and install the libtxc_dxtn.so library .. can anyone please tell me where and how i can do this? the link given at appdb is dead/.

I need help too. I've found the libtxc_dxtn.so file at http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i586.rpm.html, but I don't know how to install it. I've got Ubuntu 10.10 beta, an intel card, and would like to play san andreas.

the .so file came in an rpm package, right? so convert the original rpm to a deb file using Alien, and then install it.
