Question 1 gig flashdrive suddenly experiences baffling paradox

I was using a 1 gig flashdrive to transfer a bunch of files from my computer running Ubuntu. I didn't have anything bigger that worked, so I'd basically keep filling it to capacity before dumping it off on another computer (also Ubuntu) .

After the 4th round of filling up and dumping, my flashdrive stopped accepting files because apparently it was full, even though I knew it was empty...as I had just dumped it.

I right-clicked to check, and I got a thing saying [to paraphrase]: "capacity unknown, 0 mb in use, 0 available." I was wondering how this could be possible, and why the flash
drive would suddenly stop accepting files even though it was doing fine before. This is like a real life house of leaves.

hit ctrl-h in the thumb and see if there are hidden trash, or ms files.

Oh wow, that did the trick. I didn't realize everything I had supposedly cleared was actually in the hidden files as trash. Thank you very much!
