alsa issues on asus

Hi All,

I'm using 10.04 on Asus K42J

I have been having the headphone not working problem described here

I installed the linuxant driver and the optiplex deb mentioned in the link.

Now, everything works perfectly on chrome videos (basically flash i guess). But, not in totem/rhythmbox.

Any help will be appreciated.

one update. login sound is fine (both headphones and speaker)

might have been a small issue... deleted ~/.pulse according to this thread and things are fine now
