How do I start a window manager like evilwm in one of the windows i get when i press ctrl+alt+f#??

I can start evilwm using a x display handler? how do i get one of those?

You should be able to start it from the login screen, just click your name, and look at the bottom for sessions, choose your session, enter your password, and press enter.
