I am using a Toshiba Satellite A215-A4757 running Lucid Lynx 64 bit which has a Atheros AR5001 that works perfectly fine until I either suspend, restart or turn off the computer. When I log back in the wireless connection are sometimes there but it cannot connect or other times they will just not show up. I have to hard restart a few times in order for the wireless to come back up. It is using the ath5k driver. The connection used to work fine on 9.10 but I did a fresh install for 10.04 it has not worked properly since. I have tried many of the things which solved the issue some people have with suspend but none have worked. It seems that whenever the wireless loses power Ubuntu cannot get the device to work until the system has been reset.
