Question What are limits regarding editing a post?

Enough! No more hesitation! Here's my question-

What all are the limits and restrictions imposed on editing / modifying / linking a post of my own.

    Like,

    • how many times I am allowed to edit a post,
    • same for changing Title,
    • no. of links allowed in one post, or any other restriction regarding hyperlinks
    • Can I change the title of the thread itself?
    • Any other hurdles I may face while implementing what I've stated in 'Reason' below-

[ Reason: I am planning (after a little search on the forums) to start a "Reference Thread" of my own that will work as a "reference center" for various useful links to various threads, tutorials and external sites. So IF it worked as expected, it may end up containing a lot of links & cross-linked posts for ease of browsing. Also, all these links and Post-Titles may require to be modified from time-to-time. Hence my question here.]

[Any suggestions for me regarding this plan ]

    • As many times as you want
    • Thread titles can only be changed by moderators/admins
    • I don't believe there are any limits to the number of links in a post
    • No - see my 2nd point
    • Should the title of a thread you link to change, you can simply change your link title by editing the post

    Hopefully that clears things up

    ....Certainly ! Thanks a lot!!

However, my second point meant to change the title of a "Post", not the thread itself.
Sorry I asked that without trying first. I just tried that here and found the answer to be yes. .

One more question (although original question has been answered, so am not expecting another answer ):
It's about the "Ref. Thread" I mentioned above- Which would be the best forum to start such a thread?

Once again- sorry for being stupid and thanx for your time!!

That's really up to you: where do you think it would most benefit people? It could be the Cafe, or one of the support forums like Absolute Beginner Talk or General Help. (Not Tutorials & Tips, however, as I don't think it would fit the guidelines.)

With regards to changing a thread title, if you need to do so just hit the "Report abuse" button on the bottom left and tell us what you want it changed to. Don't worry about the "abuse" part, the form can be used for any purpose requiring a staff member.

    Ohh..
If only I got so much attention and support from the users here, that thread would be a Block-Buster I'm sure !!!!

Thank you all! I'll mark this as solved now.=D>

You should be able to change the title of a post yourself...

Posts you can, threads you can't. Changing the title of the first post doesn't change the thread title. Things change on staff though.

Unless you're suggesting that changing titles should become an option. Then ignore my post.

I think it is better in responsible hands of admins.

Since we've hit kind of a slight 'discussion' here about should/should't of posts, what's your opinion on this?
