looking to buy a PCI Sata card for my Karmic desktop

Anyone have success with a PCI SATA card in Ubuntu? I am running 9.10 and have a 80GB SATA drive but can't use it with my MOBO as there are no SATA slots. Will a PCI card work for me? IDK how well supported they are in Linux. Also, how do I rig the power supply to the drive using a PCI card?

They all work. Just get the cheapest VIA based card of eBay. And get a molex to SATA power cable while you're there.
