    Special Grub menu entry

    Hello.

I'm using Kubuntu 10.04 and latest Grub. This script will probably be pretty simple, but I have limited knowledge in this area, and I'm quite afraid of using trial and error here.

I want a Grub entry which boots up Kubuntu just as normal, and then goes to sleep/standby/suspend to ram, as soon as it has booted. Pretty much just to make the computer ready to go for later.

    Any help is appreciated!

I am not sure that grub will help you with that.

I think you will need a completely separate install, or another user on your current install to whom you set up an automatic login and then use a shell script in your startup applications to put the system into standby/suspend.

Grub simply sets the kernel you boot, and can not affect the subsequent actions of that OS as far as I'm aware. Also I have no idea how you can put the system into suspend mode by using a script, but no doubt others will know how to do that, or a forum search will tell you.

There is a tool specifically made to enable creating text based games without programming. Can't remember the name, so you'll need to google it.

    [EDIT]

    Found something:

    Aiee!
    Adventure builder
    Text Adventure game maker
    ...more resources...
