Issues: As this laptop was originally set up with Vista Home Premium, I thought to start fresh, as it were.
The HDD in it was failing anyway, so I swapped in a new 160 GB Seagate blank drive. Installed UBUNTU 10.10, and for the most part, everything looks fine. I then begin to install games I had, getting the necessary linux files to use (Neverwinter Nights 1 comes with a Linux client for the game). However, issues arise as the video driver files (ATi Radeon Mobility X1200 motherboard graphics) for linux are both old and difficult to install.
newly learning and re-learning Linux/Unix shell commands are a pain. Jut looking for less pain.
1. Ubuntu 10.10
2. Acer
3. Aspire One D260
These are not major problems but sometimes create problems (mostly while writing) OSD of Wi-Fi and Caps and Num Locks are not shown.
PS: Card reader is not working!

Ubuntu version: 10.10 netbook remix
Manufacturer: HP
Model: tm2t
Problems:
* No right click on touch pad. Touch pad also stays on when typing.
* No switching between the two graphics cards the computer has. Is always running on ATI card. Kills battery too quickly.
*Black screen error on next start up if I install ATI driver.
*No screen rotation when I put the computer in tablet mode.
1)Version Of Ubuntu - Anything above 9.04
2)Laptop Maker - Toshiba
3)Laptop Model - Satellite A135
4)Known Issue - It will NOT accept any version above 9.04.
I can load and reload and install all other versions. I can only update it so far and it fails again.
Desktop - Dell Inspiron 4700, Intel P4 3ghz, 768gb RAM, 80gb HDD Running 10.04
Laptop - Toshiba Satellite A135 Intel CeleronM 1.6ghz, 512mb RAM, 80gb HDD Running 9.04
Because the Laptop won't accept any upgrade...
OS: Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook version
Manufacturer: Dialogue
Model: Flybook A33i
Known issues: after logging in, just after some screen sections (the panels) load, all the windows and sections in the screen dissapear, and they reappear after a few seconds only to dissapear once again and so on...
Apparently it has something to do with the video card drivers (the device has an old ATI Mobility Radeon.

Is there anything else I can try, or is wireless hopeless with this model?

Issue:
Wireless antenna enabled on Windows boot-up; disabled on Ubuntu boot-up. Built-in wireless antenna cannot be enabled within Ubuntu. It seems to be a key code issue. Supposedly Windows is required to trigger the Fn + F3 toggle. Requires additional wireless adapter to access the Internet wirelessly. Wired Internet access works properly.
