Laptop INCOMPATIBILITY List.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5933. I just uninstalled Natty (11.04) and reinstalled Lucid (10.04) due to a cpu overtemp issue. Natty couldn't find the temperature sensor, and Lucid, with updates, could. Ubuntu has an ongoing issue with cpu temperature on this, and my last laptop, a Dell Inspiron.
What do they keep doing to the kernel to cause this, and what can I do to help stop it?

1)Version Of Ubuntu: 11.4
2)Laptop Maker: Dell
3)Laptop Model: Inspiron 1520
4)Known Issue: Bluetooth won't enable in spite of telling it to. Makes me sad, everything else is going great - even got Unity to work with my nVidia graphics.

HP dv6-3185ED (man. 2010)

Wireless works sometimes but mostly fails, most function keys don't, reboot / shut down freezes the dv6 completely, proprietary ATI drivers leaves it unbootable, touch pad troubles, and so on.

Tried several species of penguins: (k, x)ubuntu 8 - 11, red hat (SL 6), mandriva, gentoo, unity-linux, pardus 2, mint 9 - 11, fedora 14, opensuse11.4 and none of them can get things more or less working or even boot...

4)Dual graphics donesnt work well, trying to use WINE to run windows games doesnt work either...
for aspire one, battery life droped from 3 hours to 20min...

4) It won't boot. It seems to be a kernel issue since the old kernel booted after I upgraded, but the new kernel won't. I also can't get into recovery mode after I tried to reconfigure x. I guess I'll have to wait for the 2.6.39, which I hope will come in 11.10.
