22.04.3 - the computer freezes after standby mode.

    Hello

I recently purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad E16 certified Ubuntu compatible. I'm running 22.04.3.
Since the beginning, when I put my computer to sleep and then turn it back on, it freezes, if not the first time, then the second or third time at 100%. More specifically :
    - Mouse OK
    - some programs no longer open (Firefox already running, Thunderbird, etc.)
    - no Internet
    - no more custom keyboard shortcuts
    - Sleep button only ends session and returns me to user password entry
    - Password entry: goes around in circles
    - impossible to delete files (no permissions required, read-only file system)
    - I can't reboot/shutdown from the menus; I click, but nothing happens.
The magic keys ALT + PRTSCR + B sometimes do not restart, I only have the on/off button...
    Below some more information.
Do you know what's going on?
    Thanks in advance !

Re: 22.04.3 - the computer freezes after standby mode.

Have you reported those crashes as bugs? And what are the bug report links?

I also see that you posted this at: https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=22738715

You didn't give them (there) a clue that you actually had crashes with crash reports. I'm thinking if you reported those crashes as Bug reports at Launchpad, that you might be on a path to a solution.

The one question I see on the Lenovo Support Forums, is related to them saying that usually this problem is associated with memory intensive problems running when it is being put into a sleep mode, so that it may have a problem waking without freezing, trying to restart those applications from a sleep state. The question was, how does it do if you put it into a sleep state without any applications running, and try to wake it?

    Hello MAFoElffen,

You're right, I didn't report the crash logs to the French forum. I'll do it.

I'm not sure to understand what you mean by "reported those crashes as Bug reports at Launchpad", can you give me a little more details ?

I tried the suggestion to go to sleep mode with no applications open, it crashed again.

A new behavior : only the file manager was working and all the icons were the same. I could open a txt file in read only mode but not a video for example.

When I asked the status of NordVPN, the answer was : nordvpn.sock not found, NordVPN background service isn't running.

Do you have a clearer picture of what's going on ?

    Thanks
