Duke Nukem Forever... in Linux using Cairo!
Possibly the first game, at least the first major game, to utilize Cairo in a web browser. Duke Nukem Forever (after about 10 years) has been completely rewritten to run in your web browser. It claims to be OS-independent and browser-independent (as long as it has Cairo support such as FF 1.5, IE7, or Safari)!
http://arstechnica.com/reviews/games/forever.ars They tested it in Ubuntu even! Looks nice! |

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiz....
I didn't look at it until after the 1st... didn't realize that it had been posted yesterday. Even so, this would be an awesome idea, would it not? Maybe they can take a hint! |

Re: Duke Nukem Forever... in Linux using Cairo!
you realize it would be extrodnarily difficult to write a 3d game in AJAX, to run in a web browser, and still have accelerated graphics. I mean it's just not gonna happen any time soon, so perhaps interesting, but also so unlikely, i'm willing to say impossible within the next few years.
