    Changing text alignment in gnome-terminal

Rather than having my text aligned to the left side of the window, I was wondering if there's a way to align it to the center?

I have a transparent terminal on my desktop. Conky occupies the left side of the screen, so the terminal is in the middle. The text being aligned to the left makes it look funky.

that somewhat explains it, but i don't think it's possible, output of 50% of cli programs utilizes properties of monospace fonts to align stuff together, how would that look like if you aligned to the center?
can't you move conky to the right?

I could, but on a 42" screen it's preferred if the most important window is in the middle.

Why don't you just move conky to the right side of the screen?

If you don't want to move conky, I'm sure there is a way to move the terminal so it doesn't overlap with conky.
on freenode as Zeike or brandonj, depending on my mood.

Not to sound rude, but none of this answers my original question.

I'm attaching a screenshot so you can see exactly what I'm dealing with. Keep in mind, this screen is 42".
