    Compressing a folder with p7zip

    Hello,
I have some troubles using 7zip on Ubuntu.
When I compress a folder on windows i can get a file up to 10x smaller than the original one.
    On Ubuntu, I compressed a 450Mb folder into a 440Mb archive...
So here I am: how can I get a better compression?
    Thank you,

You don't need 7zip on ubuntu, it has compression built in.
    Right click on a folder.
    Click on compress.
Choose the .tar.lzma format for best (but slower) compression.

I am used to .7z archives (that I also can use on Windows).
How can I get the same Windows compression rate ?

I think you can open those .tar.lzma on Windows with 7zip too.
So, you were talking about that... ummm... that... errr...
    Oh, yes, yes...
