No need to worry about versions, just use the Ubuntu Software Centre, located in the Applications menu.

this may be quicker: open a terminal and type in:
Then type your password.Code:sudo aptitude install chromium-browser&& sudo aptitude install ubuntu-restricted-extras.
would probably b a good idea to calm down. Maybe the Software centre is a bit slow on a netbook.
