What version of software do Install?????

I do not know which version of certain softwares to install, example google chrome, do i need .deb or apt? 32 or 64? I have ubuntu netbook 10.04. Please help guys, i am new to ubuntu i just made the switch from windows, thanks.

No need to worry about versions, just use the Ubuntu Software Centre, located in the Applications menu.

lol, ok, i found the software center and i clicked on it and nothing happens! im getting frustrated!!!!!!

ok i think i got it, it was under "chromium"

this may be quicker: open a terminal and type in:

sudo aptitude install chromium-browser&& sudo aptitude install ubuntu-restricted-extras.

Then type your password.

would probably b a good idea to calm down. Maybe the Software centre is a bit slow on a netbook.
