Recovery of USB stick after flashdrive experience

Hi all, first post so please have a little patience.

Well, i'm looking into buying a new laptop and only want to install Ubuntu on it.

Currently, using mac 10.4.11 and wanted to test Ubuntu out. Damn burner is broken. so, i have been trying to launch it from USB. dyslexia does not help when trying to follow instructions!

anywayz, tried to lauch from usb - so far has failed. terminal commands are not working for me. now my USB stick simply says Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Any way of recovering the USB device?

Will appreciate any help!
