simultaneous sound from front and back panel

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction in reference to attaining simultaneous output from both the front and back panels in 12.04 and making the back panel the default.

Currently, I dual boot windows to play games, I have a headset setup to use the front panel (For voip etc...), everything else by default is redirected out the rear panel. I'm working toward more gaming in Linux and would like to achieve the same setup.

My issue becomes annoying when I boot into Ubuntu I have to unplug the headset to get sound on the speakers (back panel), I'm just looking for a pointer in the right direction to default application sound to the back panel and not be overtaken by the front unless selected to do so.

If it makes any difference, my mobo/chipset:
