Just install the kernal I suggested. They are .deb files so it is just a double click and install.

oh, okay, I just installed them, I'll wait a couple days to see if i have the problem again.
nope, did it again, installing that kernel did nothing.
and it did it again, It's done it 3 times I think today. extremely annoying, I lose data because of it too.
Humm when you boot are you botting into the new kernel?
It will have a list saying ubuntu (2.6.32)
then the failse then
ubuntu (2.6.33)
and again a failsafe.
Make sure you use the new kernel.
I think it's the new one, when I booted in the bootscreen was slightly different. I'll boot again and check
edit: yep, it's 2.6.33 so the kernel didnt fix it.

so the kernel is not the problem, anyone else have any ideas?
Im bumping this again. It's a majorly annoying issue. Should I submit a bug report?
Yep, report it on launchpad.net and put the link here.
I had read a few others talking about this on ubuntuforums.org.
You need to provide details of your hardware, and specifically the computer make and model.

ok will report it, but that link you gave me is most definitely not connected. My issue is only a temporary one, it only stays in Ubuntu, and is fixed (temporarily) by a hard restart.
