    Banshee 1.6.1 Watch Folder Extension

Banshee 1.6.1 has a "Library Watcher" extension to watch folders for changes in my library. I have that extension ticked, but it doesn't seem to be watching my library and/or updating my library when I add new music. Does anyone have this problem or know what I'm doing wrong?

    thanks!

Re: Banshee 1.6.1 Watch Folder Extension

    falafel,

I was having trouble with Banshee not watching my folders, and it may have been because I had told it to watch a folder on a mounted drive. Banshee watched that folder, but continued to watch the /home/user/Music folder as well. There were some problems and slowdowns because Banshee got confused.

I found it works best (if your music is on another partition) to tell Banshee to watch the regular /home/user/Music folder, and just put a shortcut to where my music is located in that folder.

I have no idea if that will help, but I agree that a music player that doesn't watch your folders isn't nearly as useful. Might as well be using itunes if you have to add the music in yourself. Good luck!
