Geforce 310m problem
I have a Vaio VPCCW25FG with Nvidia Geforce 310m VGA on. and tried installing Ubuntu 10.04 on it.
after lots of problems, I could get it running, but no XServer. when I try opening it, says "You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server."
I tried that and also reinstalling the driver but it did not help. when Ubuntu starts, it says that failed to initialize the kernel.
does anybody have any idea how I can fix it?
or at least control the backlight?
