Steam Freezes/Crashes in Wine

I have been running steam in wine for about a month or so but today my steam started to act weird and all, I had some problems with it so I exit steam but when I try to launch it again pretty much everything on steam just freezes.

My friends list pops up as usual but I can't click on anything (in friends list either). so I can't launch games nor SDK. the only thing besides usual I have done today is installed .NET Framework 2.0 on wine (from Microsoft's own homepage).

My laptop has been online 24/7 for about a week or more now so I was thinking that might be the case so I restarted it but still happens.

Which version of Wine are you using? open a terminal and type 'wine --version'

wine-1.2-rc7 is the most recent.

I just installed wine 1.2 to try and run steam and it pops up the windows for the main screen for a second, then steam quits... I'll try reinstall, but I thinking I'm missing something.
