Pinguy OS has a few more things starting at boot then Ubuntu to give the user a more friendlier system. The down fall of this is it will boot slightly slower, but for most people the speed will not be noticeable.

And the only folder in '/var/lib/ureadahead' is 'debugfs', which is empty.

If you take a deeper look at the thread, you'll see that I've thanked many times for the great work.

Wow. 20 secs. That's not right, it should only be slightly slower.
Try rebooting a couple of times to get a ureadahead file. Once you have the file at /var/lib/ureadahead/pack it should be faster.

I going to spend a couple of weeks on this to see if I can improve on boot times.

Liked it the first day - second day, the docky on the left with folders and drives wouldn't work - clicking on any of the icons made VLC open!?!

Any suggestions how this can be fixed because I do like the look and feel of your OS but not if this can't be fixed.

You can try to remove the whole left dock and then add a new one. It contains only the docklet called "Bookmarks".

Antoni, the Bluetooth support is not installed according to me.
Could you confirm that, please?

P.S.
The delay may be because of my file-system. I'm using 'reiserfs' now and I think that the FS checks slow down the start-up time considerably. I'm gonna investigate more deeply this issue today.

This has happened to me once. The problem with me was because I right clicked a folder and went to Open With Other Application... and chose VLC with out un-ticking Remember this application for "Folder" files

How I fixed it was to right click a folder Open With Other Application... and choose File Browser

If you want to open folders with VLC just make sure Remember this application for "Folder" files is un-ticked.
