ps the ubuntu live cd's were also doing the same thing...
Sounds like your DVD drive could be on it's way out. See if you can boot it from the USB on the desktop.

    Re: Pinguy OS

I prefer DVD distros to CD distros. Why? Because I have a DVD burner and 4TB of hdd space. Why not?

I dont want the apps to be so over loaded that I cant find my way through them, but I do like more functionality than is with Ubuntu out of the box. Thats why I use Mint, but even with mint I wish there was a dock by default and more multi-media and communication apps.

Good work PinGuy. I might put it on my list of things to try.

    Re: Pinguy OS

    Hello Pinguy,

Great job, nice OS =D>! I like it, but for my needs there are too many programs. I know that you spent a lot of time doing this great work, and I have some proposal:
    - Is possible to have when we install the OS the option to select the programs to be installed?
    or
    - To have a minimal installation CD but with tweaks and look of Pinguy?
    - First I install on an USB with Linux Live USB Creator, but I have no persistent option. Is possible to have this option?

    Many thanks .

Thanks for the response pinguy but the same happens trying to boot from a usb. seems as though there was a similar issue with ubuntu and graphics cards. I'll keep on trying.

This is just a fix for Gwibber and gksudo nautilus + some fixes for the live session.

I will not be releasing another version of 10.04. It will still get updates I just won't be releasing another version as I need to start on 10.10.
