Question Why no package for FreePBX?

Anyone know why there is no out-of-the-box package for freepbx so that one could simply do apt-get install freepbx ?
This is the most common, most robust gui front-end to Asterisk.
Currently, one has to do many custom steps following:

if you search on launchpad ppa you can find a deb (outdated '2008'), googling around i've found a detailed howto from source (french)
    and a complete system: http://digantel.org/

maybe its time for yourself to built it, open a ppa, and give that deb available to others.

Thanks for the link and comment.
I would do it if I fealt confident enough in my abilities to do that as I try to contribute in the capacity that I can. Unfortunately, I am not comfortable enough with freepbx, asterisk, or really the building of Ubuntu packages to be able to contribute in that capacity.

I think adding a package for this one would be a very good addition to ubuntu. If there is a roadmap or other list for consideration, I hope this makes it on the list.

Bump... me too! I can't believe I can install Astrisk, apache2, and mysql with the simple package manager, and then not have freepbx installed the same way.

I even bought a script that kinda worked, but used old versions, and didn't install astrisk from the repositories, instead, downloaded and built it. Crazy.

I've been running my astrisk server from AsteriskNow, and it's still on centOS. I'd like to upgrade it to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server.
